Vacant Block Slashing Before a Sale, Build or New Fence

Vacant block slashing is one of the most common requests on the Mid Coast, especially before a property goes to market, before a build starts, or ahead of new fencing.

Why slash a vacant block?

  • Visibility Buyers, surveyors and builders can see boundaries, falls and access points.
  • Access. Trades, agents and family can walk the block safely.
  • Presentation. Tidy grass reads as cared-for land even when there is no house.
  • Fencing prep. Installers can see posts, corners and ground conditions.

How much to slash?

Some owners slash the full block; others prioritise frontage, boundaries and access tracks. Send a quick sketch or note describing which zones matter most. Full clearance takes longer than a boundary and access package.

Timing before sale or build

Book early enough that regrowth does not undo the tidy-up before photos or inspections. After wet weather, grass can rebound within weeks. A slash a few weeks before marketing often works better than months ahead.

Hidden obstacles matter

Vacant blocks often hide old wire, rubble, stumps and rubbish in long grass. Mention anything you know about and share photos. It helps plan safe equipment use and realistic time on site.
